Casg Annamh is a Speyside single malt from Aberlour. The name is Gaelic for rare cask, and it refers to the choice of casks used for its maturation: one European oak cask that previously held sherry, and two different American oak casks.
It is bottled without chill-filtration. The malt is described as bold and full-bodied, yet well balanced.
The nose is broad, with milky coffee, honey and hazelnut, followed by candied peel and raisins. The palate is soft and full, with apple, peaches in syrup and oriental spices that add liveliness. The finish is long and refined.
