Aberlour Casg Annamh is a single malt from Aberlour distillery in Speyside, in a 70cl bottle. The name is Scottish Gaelic for 'rare cask', and the whisky is made in small batches.
It was matured in three types of cask: American oak ex-bourbon, European oak and Oloroso sherry.
The nose offers dried fruit, raisins and citrus, with sweet spice from cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate come orange marmalade, dark chocolate and honey, with lingering toasted oak. The finish is long, warm and rich, with fruit and spice returning.
