Achill Island – Cask Strength Peated Single Malt (70cl, 60%)

This is a peated Irish single malt from Achill Island, County Mayo, bottled at cask strength of 60%. It is described as the first peated single malt Irish whiskey to be distilled, matured and bottled on an island. The whiskey takes its inspiration from the boglands of Achill, and has a delicate smokiness alongside a sweet taste. The nose offers gentle peat smoke. The palate opens with sweet malt and caramel before the delicate smoke develops, and the finish is well balanced.
