Achill Island Single Malt Bordeaux Cask Finish (70cl, 44%)

Achill Island Single Malt is an Irish whiskey made from malted Irish barley and triple distilled in copper pot stills on Achill Island. It matures first in first-fill Kentucky bourbon barrels, then finishes in Bordeaux red wine casks from Lynch-Bages. It is bottled at 44%, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring. The wine finish brings a summery, fruity character, with sultanas, vanilla and a soft chai spice alongside cinnamon and red fruit. The nose is soft and floral, with vanilla and crème caramel. On the palate, sultanas meet soft summer fruit, raspberry adds a slight tartness and strawberry is juicy, with mild chai spice and vanilla. The finish is medium to long and creamy.
