Aerstone Sea Cask 10 Year Old Single Malt Scotch (70cl, 40%)

Aerstone Sea Cask is a ten-year-old Lowland single malt Scotch, unpeated and not smoky. It comes from the Ailsa Bay distillery and matures in ex-bourbon casks in coastal warehouses in Ayrshire. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. Grapefruit, kiwi, light cereal and beeswax give it a fresh, fruity and waxy edge, with an oily texture, honey and creamy vanilla sweetness. The nose offers buttery toffee, creamy vanilla and freshly baked shortbread, with honeyed malt, orange, and hints of cinnamon and cocoa. On the palate come banana cake, floral malt, nougat and vanilla cake, with honey, orange sweets, icing sugar and earthy oak. The finish keeps clove, candied lemon and vanilla pod, ending on a light saltiness.
