Akashi 5 Year Old Sherry Casks is a single malt from a small family distillery in Japan, aged for five years in sherry casks.
It is bottled at 50% ABV, with natural colour and without chill-filtration. The whisky has a silky mouthfeel.
The nose brings black cherries, balsamic and autumn spice, with a hint of smoke. On the palate are gingerbread, mandarin oranges and sherry, with almonds and dried fruits. The finish is delicate, with subtle peppermint, leather and white flowers.
