Amaethon is a French single malt, named after the Celtic god of agriculture. It is made from barley grown in France. The whisky matures in ex-bourbon casks, then spends a few weeks in ex-cognac casks to finish. It comes in a 70cl bottle. The nose is fresh and grassy, with cereal, orange peel, vanilla, honey, liquorice and lemon zest. The palate is soft and velvety, with walnut, pear, citrus, vanilla and honey, a touch of rhubarb and a note of bread. The finish is medium in length, with nuts, citrus, pear, pepper and wood.
