Amaro Alpino Braulio Bormio (70cl)

An alpine amaro from Bormio in Valtellina, produced by the Peloni distillery. It is made by macerating alpine herbs, including gentian, juniper, tansy and yarrow, in pure alcohol, then ageing in oak barrels, which gives an amber colour. The nose shows balsamic and slightly spicy notes with hints of pine and moss. The palate is rich and complex, with pleasant bitterness balanced by a subtle sweet aftertaste of liquorice and mountain honey. Traditionally served as a digestif, at room temperature or slightly chilled, and also used as a base for cocktails.
