Amaro Montenegro (70cl)

Amaro Montenegro is an Italian herbal liqueur made from 40 botanicals chosen by its founder, Stanislao Cobianchi. They include rhizomes, roots, seeds, spices, woods, flowers, barks, citrus peel and dried fruit, which go through a lengthy extraction and blending process. A master herbalist checks each step against the original recipe. The flask-shaped bottle was also designed by Cobianchi. The colour is amber with mahogany glints. The nose opens with sweet and bitter orange, then mandarin and citron, followed by thyme, marjoram, eucalyptus and incense, ending on toasted, mineral and woodland notes. The palate is soft and silky, balancing sweet and bitter, with a gently bitter finish. It can be sipped neat, over ice or used in cocktails.
