Amatitena Barrancas Blanco Tequila (70cl, 55%)

Amatitena Barrancas is a blanco tequila at 55% abv, in a 70cl bottle. It is made from 100% Blue Weber agave grown in a single field, the Barrancas ranch in Amatitán, Jalisco, by Master Tequilero Alberto Partida. The agave is cooked over wood fire, crushed by tahona and fermented in open wood tanks with wild yeast. It is double distilled in wood-fired copper pot stills, with wild mango, mamey and plum added to the second distillation. The tequila then rests for a year in glass demijohns rather than barrels, and has no additives. The heat is subtle, with coriander, candied apple, roasted carrot, mango skin, underripe plum, nutmeg, burnt lemon, mesquite and roasted pear.
