American Born Moonshine Original is an un-aged corn whiskey made by SPEAKeasy Spirits in Nashville, Tennessee, bottled at 51.5% in a 750ml bottle.
The recipe is said to go back roughly 200 years and uses only corn, sugar and water. The spirit is distilled in American-built stills and bottled in American-made glass.
The nose is fresh popcorn with cane sugar and a thread of white pepper. The palate is sweet, with grape juice, toasted marshmallow, marzipan and nougat. The finish is medium, balancing sweetness and pepper, with a clean, dry close.
