Amrut – Cask Strength Single Malt Indian Whisky

Amrut Cask Strength is an Indian single malt whisky, bottled at cask strength. Amrut is a Sanskrit word meaning nectar of the gods or elixir of life. The company has been producing alcohol since 1948. The whisky is made from 6-row Indian barley, which is taken to the distillery in Bengaluru. The city sits 3,000 feet above sea level and has a tropical climate. Research done in Scotland found that whisky aged in Bangalore matures roughly 3.5 times faster than whisky aged in Scotland, owing to the altitude and a steady temperature of 78 degrees F.
