Amrut Fusion is an Indian single malt from the Amrut Distillery in Bangalore, bottled at 50% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
It is made from unpeated Indian barley and peated Scottish barley, in a mashbill of 75% to 25%. The spirit was distilled in copper pot stills and matured in American oak and ex-bourbon barrels.
The nose brings plum, cherry and raspberry with caramel, vanilla and a restrained smokiness. The palate is malty, with candied orange, tropical fruit, peat smoke, black coffee and buttered toast. The finish is medium, fruity at first, then dry oak and cinnamon with a sweet, smoky warmth.
