Amrut – Fusion Single Malt 100 Proof (75cl, 50%)

Amrut Fusion is an Indian single malt that blends whiskies made from barley grown in two places. Most of the barley comes from the Himalayas, with a portion of peated barley from Scotland. The malts are distilled and matured separately in old and new American oak barrels at the family-owned Bangalore distillery, which sits 3000 ft. above sea level, and are then married together. It is bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof) in a 750ml bottle. The nose is heavily oaked and complex, with barley sugar and soft smoke. On the palate, peat, a sherry trifle note, barley fruit and chocolate fudge build, and the finish is dry with peat, oak and molassed sweetness, with spice at the close.
