Amrut – Fusion Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 50%)

Amrut Fusion is an Indian single malt from Amrut Distilleries in Bangalore, bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It combines whisky made from barley grown at the foot of the Himalayas with whisky made from peated Scottish barley. The two are distilled separately and matured in old and new American oak casks before being blended together. Tasting notes describe clean barley, blood orange, brown sugar, vanilla and very gentle peat on the nose. Orange, vanilla, oak, mocha and peat follow on the palate, building with time, and the long finish balances sweet, spicy and peaty notes.
