Amrut Greedy Angels Chairman's Reserve is a 12 year old single malt from Bangalore, India, bottled at a cask strength of 60% ABV, non-chill filtered and in natural colour.
It was matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The name refers to the heavy evaporation in Bangalore's heat, and Amrut has reported a total angel's share loss of roughly 82% over the twelve years.
The nose brings chestnut, chocolate orange, vanilla, liquorice, espresso and leather, alongside candied tropical fruit with orange to the fore. The palate opens silky, with chocolate, cranberry and peppercorn, then builds to a spicy peak with pomegranate and chocolate brownie.
