Amrut Spectrum Batch #1 is an Indian single malt released in October 2015 and bottled at 50% ABV. The unpeated spirit is first aged in ex-bourbon barrels, then moved into custom-built casks made from a mix of four or five different wood staves: new American oak, new French oak, Oloroso sherry and Pedro Ximenez sherry.
The whisky has a deep mahogany colour. On the palate it is described as dark chocolate, roasted coffee and heavy baking spices, alongside jammy dark fruits, finishing with robust, drying oak.
