Ancient Age is a straight bourbon whiskey from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
It is made from Buffalo Trace's Mashbill #2, which contains approximately 15% rye, and is aged for a minimum of 36 months in new charred American oak barrels.
The nose is warm vanilla and caramel with subtle oak and a light rye spice. On the palate, corn sweetness and vanilla come first, followed by light rye spice and black pepper. The finish is dry and fairly short, with mild rye citrus and black pepper.
