anCnoc 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt from Knockdhu Distillery, in a 750ml bottle at 43% ABV. It is made from 100% malted barley and matured entirely in American oak ex-bourbon casks.
Knockdhu pairs pot stills with wide bases and tall necks with traditional cast-iron worm tub condensers, one of the last Scottish distilleries to do so. The stills tend towards lightness and the condensers towards weight, which gives a spirit with both delicacy and body.
The nose is typically described as lavender, honeydew melon, fresh-cut grass and honey, with ripe pear and orange zest. The palate is soft and malty, with banana, vanilla, honey and cinnamon. The finish is medium, with a touch of chilli and pepper, then white chocolate.
