This is a ten-year-old straight rye from Angel's Envy, bottled at full cask strength and unfiltered. The mash bill is 95% rye and 5% malted barley, and the rye was distilled between 2013 and 2015.
The whiskey matured in American white oak and was finished in Caribbean rum barrels, giving a combined ten years in wood.
The nose offers medjool date, buttery brown sugar and vanilla bean. On the palate, candied ginger and rye spice sit alongside rum-soaked pound cake, with a velvety texture and a touch of mint. The finish brings molasses, grassy sugarcane, juicy tropical fruit and soft oak tannins.
