The sixth release in the Angel's Envy Cellar Collection, a Kentucky straight rye whiskey finished in peach brandy and toasted oak barrels.
The rye was distilled between 2014 and 2018 from a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley. One portion rested in peach brandy casks for 15 to 23 months, another in toasted oak barrels for 6 to 12 months, and the two were then blended back together.
The nose is candied peach and table syrup with gentle baking spices. The palate brings ripe orchard fruit, vanilla cream, caramel and clove. The finish moves from confectionery sweetness to peppery rye, with soft oak and fruit sugar.
