Angel's Envy – Bourbon Whiskey Finished in Port Wine Barrels (75cl, 43.3%)

Angel's Envy is a Kentucky straight bourbon distilled in Louisville, in a 75cl bottle at 43.3% ABV. It is typically aged for up to six years and then finished for three to six months in ruby port casks. Those casks are 60-gallon French oak barrels imported from Portugal, and they give the bourbon a reddish-amber hue. Each small batch is blended twice, before and after the finishing, in runs of eight to twelve barrels. Angel's Envy was co-founded in 2010 by Lincoln Henderson and his son Wes. Official notes describe vanilla, raisins, maple syrup and toasted nuts on the nose, and vanilla, ripe fruit, toast and bitter chocolate on the palate. The finish is clean and lingering, with a hint of Madeira.
