Angel's Envy – Cask Strength 2020 (60.2%)

The 2020 release of Angel's Envy Cask Strength, a bourbon bottled at 120.4 proof (60.2%). Each year's release is drawn from a small number of barrels in the distillery's rickhouse, chosen for a lengthy finishing process. It is a deep amber colour. The nose combines apricot, plum, baking spices, brown sugar, leather, oak and vanilla, with Bing cherries prominent and carrying through to the palate, where they join salted chocolate, orange peel and faint cedar. The finish is tannic, balanced by citrus fruit, neither too bitter nor too dry, and lingers at the back of the tongue.
