This is Angel's Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon, finished in port barrels and bottled at cask strength, in a 75cl bottle. It was created for the brand's 15th anniversary and is its first cask strength release with an age statement.
The bourbon was distilled in July 2014 and March 2015. The ten years on the label cover the whole time in oak, in both new charred barrels and the finishing port barrels.
The nose is sweet cinnamon toast with fruit nougat and candied nuts. Baklava, ripe apricot, crème brûlée and cognac follow on the palate, and the finish brings rum raisin cake.
