This is the 2024 Cask Strength bourbon from Angel's Envy, a Kentucky distillery, finished in port barrels and sold in a 750ml bottle.
It is built on a 2016 bourbon with oak and toffee character, married with the brand's Ruby Port influence. This year's release adds bourbon finished in Tawny Port, bringing a nutty, caramelised fruit note that links the two styles.
The balance is described as bright red berry acidity set against the deep sweetness of dried fruit.
