Angel's Envy Cask Strength Rye 2026 is a straight rye bottled at 55.8% ABV (111.6 proof) in a 75cl bottle. It is the brand's first age-stated, cask-strength rye, with about 10,800 bottles made.
Two components make up the ten years in wood. About 69% is a 6-year rye given a further four years in Caribbean rum casks, and about 31% is a 12-year rye finished for four months in rum casks. The whiskey was distilled between 2013 and 2015 from sourced Kentucky stocks.
Cloves, lime, wintergreen and butter rum show on the nose. The palate has rye spice, black pepper, sweet caramel and candied ginger, and the finish is long and drying with rye bread, tart citrus and dry wood.
