Angel's Envy Rye Whiskey Finished in Caribbean Rum Casks (75cl, 50%)

Angel's Envy Rye is a Kentucky rye whiskey bottled at 50% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is matured in new charred oak, then finished in casks that previously held Caribbean rum. The idea came from the late Master Distiller Lincoln Henderson, and the whiskey is a tribute to his experiments with unconventional finishes. His team sampled more than 100 rums to find casks with the right character. The nose is described as maple, vanilla and toasted oak with a hint of tropical sweetness. The palate balances rye spice with caramel, brown sugar and dried fruit, and the finish is long and warm, with spice, oak and a whisper of molasses.
