This is the 2025 limited edition of Angel's Envy rye, a Kentucky straight rye whiskey from Louisville. It is made from a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, aged for 6.5 years and bottled at 46% ABV.
Where the standard Angel's Envy Rye is finished in Caribbean rum casks, this edition has been finished in first- and second-fill French oak barrels since October 2024, with no rum casks involved.
The tasting notes point to earthy oak, pine, cinnamon and spearmint on the nose. The palate brings spiced vanilla, dried fruit, cinnamon toast and cracked black pepper, and the finish is creamy with salted caramel, sweet mint and lingering peppercorn.
