Angel's Envy – Single Barrel Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels (75cl, 55%)

This is a single barrel Kentucky bourbon from Angel's Envy, finished in Port wine barrels and bottled at cask strength of 55% (110 proof) in a 75cl bottle. The whiskey was distilled at the Angel's Envy distillery, which began its own production in 2017. The barrel was picked from several Port-finished casks tasted alongside an unfinished one. The aim was the cask with the least Port influence, so the bourbon itself comes through. It tastes of classic Kentucky bourbon, with only a touch of red fruit at the back end and a kick from the high proof.
