Angel's Envy Small Batch Rye is a Kentucky straight rye bottled at 46% ABV. The whiskey is matured in new American oak and then finished in French oak barrels. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose combines spearmint, vanilla custard, dried orange peel and baking spice, with toasty French oak, cedar and nutmeg. On the palate, cracked black pepper, allspice and ginger sit over caramel, oak tannin and sweet vanilla, with a light herbal note mid-palate. The finish is medium in length, with warm oak spice, lingering peppercorn and a gentle sweet oak echo.
