Angel's Envy Straight Rye is a Kentucky rye whisky finished in Añejo tequila barrels. It is distilled from a rye mashbill and aged for up to seven years, then finished for nearly a year in French oak barrels that previously held Patrón Añejo tequila for four years.
The tequila finish adds a further layer to the spice and depth of the rye. It is bottled at 50% ABV.
The nose is floral and fruit-forward, with vanilla and a touch of smoky clove. Cracked pepper, baking spices, earthy tobacco and agave sweetness balanced by brown sugar come through on the palate. The finish brings orange blossom honey, tropical fruit and soft oak.
