This is a 10 year old peated single malt from Annandale, the Lowlands distillery in Dumfries and Galloway. It was bottled from a single fresh ex-bourbon cask, number 621, at 58.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle, and the cask yielded 224 bottles. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered.
It belongs to the Man O'Sword label, the richer, peaty side of Annandale's range.
The nose is led by warm cooked orchard fruits, gentle wood smoke and a touch of candied sweetness. On the palate, toffee and butterscotch are balanced by a firm thread of wood spice. The finish is rich and lightly oily, with creamy vanilla and a trailing wisp of barbecue smoke.
