This is an eight-year-old Annandale from the Lowlands, bottled by Brave New Spirits as Defender of the Crown in the Whisky Heroes series.
It matured in a first fill Oloroso sherry butt, number 766, and was bottled at cask strength, 52.9% ABV, giving 676 bottles from the single cask.
The whisky is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The first fill cask is said to give a closer connection to the characteristic sherry notes.
