This is an eight-year-old peated single malt from Annandale, bottled by independent bottler Brave New Spirits as part of its Whisky Heroes series.
It was matured fully in a first-fill Oloroso sherry butt and bottled at 52.9% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The official tasting notes list crispy bacon, white grapes, thyme, dark chocolate with chilli pepper and roast pork. Stewed berries and an oily texture are also mentioned, with a sweet and savoury character running through.
