This is a single cask Annandale from the Man O' Words range, a Lowland single malt filled on 16 March 2017 and bottled on 12 June 2020 at 3 years old. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 60.4% ABV, with natural colour and without chill filtration.
The cask is an STR Burgundy wine cask, a design that was the brainchild of the late Dr Jim Swan. It first held French Burgundy, then had its staves shaved, toasted and recharred, and was part filled with oloroso sherry to keep the wood hydrated on its way to the distillery.
The nose brings cinnamon, nutmeg, creamy vanilla, butterscotch and demerara sugar. On the palate come melted butter, pear, strawberries, cream, apple, blackberry, prunes and melon.
