This is a 15 year old Islay single malt from Ardbeg, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is the third release in the distillery's Anthology series, matured in charred bourbon casks. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The name comes from the Beithir, a figure from Highland legend. The Gaelic word can mean serpent, lightning or thunderbolt, and the creature is told of as a serpent-like being that waits for prey in remote waters.
The Anthology series pairs unusual maturation methods and cask choices with Ardbeg's smoky profile.
