Ardbeg 17 Year Old is an Islay single malt, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It was first released in 1999 and discontinued in 2004, and it was never labelled as a limited edition.
The nose combines sweet peat and malt with vanilla, alongside briny, slightly medicinal notes of liquorice, yeast and engine oil. The palate is soft and chewy, with malt, cocoa, dry peat, salt and roasted marshmallows. The finish is medium to long, with residual peat, white pepper and ginger.
