Ardbeg Elements of Islay Ar11 is a 19 year old Islay single malt bottled by Elixir Distillers as part of the Elements of Islay collection. It is a cask strength release of 840 bottles at 56.8% ABV, in a 50cl bottle.
Twelve years of the maturation were in American oak, followed by seven in first-fill Pedro Ximenez sherry casks.
The nose has ripe cherry, dried apricot and apple, with clove, liquorice and charred oak. The palate is bold with smoked honey, burnt sugar, citrus zest and anise, plus barbecued meats, soy sauce and spice. The finish is long, with plum tart, cocoa dust and smouldering barbecue smoke.
