A single cask Ardbeg from Islay, distilled on 4 November 1976 and bottled on 10 June 2008 at 52.4%. It matured in a sherry butt, cask number 2397, and this is bottle 324 of 519, in a 70cl bottle.
Ardbeg stands on the south coast of Islay and was founded in 1815. The distillery is known for smoke, depth and sweetness, and this whisky has a phenol level of around 55 ppm. Casks from the 1970s date from the years when Hiram Walker owned the distillery.
