This Ardbeg single malt was distilled on 15 August 2011 and bottled in 2018 from a single first-fill bourbon cask, number 2198. The outturn was 256 bottles, at 60.2% ABV in 70cl bottles.
The nose offers ripe pear, green apple and citrus, with black pepper, thyme, vanilla and peat. The palate is toasted vanilla and smoky peat with honey and sea salt, and a peppery, velvety texture; the sweetness grows with water.
The finish is medium to long and warming, with caramel, roasted almonds and light oak and peat.
