Ardbeg Kildalton is a limited edition Islay single malt, bottled in 2014 at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and made with malted barley from the Port Ellen maltings. Maturation was in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks.
The nose combines green apple, ripe pear and dried apricot with cinnamon, fresh mint and toasted oak. Caramelised brown sugar and roasted nuts lead the palate, with ginger spice and cocoa and a creamy mouthfeel. The finish is long and warming, with dark chocolate and delicate smoke.
