This is a 21 year old single cask Ardbeg, filled into a first fill bourbon cask on 18th September 2000 and left to mature in warehouse #3 at the distillery. It was bottled at cask strength, 45.5%, in a 70cl bottle on 27th September 2021, in an edition of 149 bottles.
The colour is bright gold. Dark treacle toffee fills the nose, alongside the soot and tar that mark Ardbeg. On the palate, pine and beeswax sit with aniseed and lime, all wrapped in gentle smoke.
