Ardbeg 25 Year Old 2022 Release is an Islay single malt bottled by the distillery in 2022 at 46% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered in the sense that no chill filtration was used, and it comes in a metal box with a modern Ardbeg knotwork design.
The whisky was matured in ex-bourbon barrels, from casks distilled in the 1990s.
The nose is bright citrus zest, dried apricot and dark cherry, with cinnamon, fresh thyme and oak. The palate has ripe orchard fruit, spiced toffee, dark chocolate and a touch of sea salt. The finish is long and warming, with honey, gentle smoke and peat.
