Ardbeg 25 Year Old is an Islay single malt bottled by the distillery itself, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered.
The extra years in cask are described as smoothing and deepening the distillery's peaty style while keeping the smokiness found in its younger releases.
The nose offers smoked cream, earthy bonfires, pine and candle wax. Hot pepper rises on the palate around a lemon sherbet sweetness, with hints of carbolic soap and tar. The aftertaste is long, with aniseed, cream and fudge.
