This is a 25 year old Ardbeg single malt from Islay, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. The Lord of the Isles was a limited edition, available from 2002 to 2007.
The name honours the Lord of the Isles, who ruled the Western Isles and parts of Argyll from the 12th to the 15th century. The whisky was aged in oak casks for a quarter of a century.
It is described as balancing smoky peat, maritime brine and herbal freshness, with ripe fruit, citrus zest, green nuts and forest pine.
