Ardbeg 8 Year Old For Discussion is a Committee Release, bottled for members of the Ardbeg Committee. It is an Islay single malt with a smoky intensity that runs through the whole dram. The nose opens with charcoal, creosote, tar and treacle toffee, with vegetal hints of fennel, celery and green pepper. Milk chocolate, aniseed and wood smoke follow, and a little water brings out fennel, coriander and lavender. On the palate a peppery mouthfeel leads to treacle toffee, aniseed and salted caramel chocolate, then charcoal, smoked bacon and burnt toast. The finish is long, with peppermint and clove.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
