Ardbeg – An Oa (70cl, 46.6%)

Ardbeg An Oa is an Islay single malt in the distillery's core range, first launched in the UK in September 2017. It is bottled non-chill-filtered at 46.6% in a 70cl bottle. It is assembled in Ardbeg's Gathering Vat from whiskies matured in several cask types, including sweet Pedro Ximenez, spicy virgin charred oak and ex-bourbon casks. The name comes from the Mull of Oa, whose cliffs shelter the distillery from Atlantic weather. It is described as smoky and mellowed by smooth sweetness. Ardbeg peat, dark chocolate and aniseed sit alongside butterscotch, black pepper and clove.
