An Oa is an Islay single malt from Ardbeg, in a 70cl bottle. It is golden in colour.
It is made from whiskies aged in three types of cask: American ex-bourbon, European ex-sherry and virgin charred oak. These are then brought together in a large French oak vat, giving a smoky whisky that is exceptionally soft.
The nose is intense and layered, with dates, caramel, aniseed, resin, chocolate and tobacco. The palate is seductive and lingers for a long time.
