Ardbeg Anthology The Beithir's Tale is a 15 year old Islay single malt bottled at 46%. It is the third edition in the Anthology and the last of the series.
The whisky was aged in charred bourbon casks that were air-seasoned, heavily toasted and then lightly charged.
The nose is pungent, oily and spicy, with treacle, creosote and smoked herbs, and toasted apples and raisins underneath. On the palate come peat smoke, coffee grits and currants, with sweet lemon balsam and smoked mandarin. The finish is long, with vanilla and smoked butter.
