Ardbeg Ardbog is an Islay single malt released on Ardbeg Day, 1 June 2013. Each year the distillery marks the day, which celebrates its founding, with a new whisky. This one celebrates the many peat bogs found on the island.
The nose brings sea salt and brine with dark fruit and a hint of barbecue, then maple syrup, plum, orange, mint and herbal notes, with white coffee developing. The palate is big and drying at first, with salt-crusted raisins, nuttiness and pickled onions. The finish carries red chilli heat and paprika.
